Distance is no Barrier to learning a language

Andrew lives in his hometown, in magical Sligo in the west of Ireland near the ocean. I was lucky enough to visit County Sligo several times and always, on leaving this beautiful place, I took with me wonderful impressions of the beauty of nature, amazing mountains, ancient castles and, of course, the ocean.

And like everyone else, Andrew has his own hobbies. He often talks about one of them in Russian during our classes – this is football! Andrew loves this sport very much. He is not only a spectator and observer of the matches, but he himself plays on the field with his team in Sligo. His another hobby is, you guessed it, the Russian language.

Andrew has been studying it for a number of years and has achieved excellent results. He began his journey into the world of Russian by learning the alphabet, and today he has already reached level B1, which allows us to discuss various interesting topics in Russian in the classroom. When we started our classes, Andrew lived and worked in Dublin, so the lessons were held in a live format. Later, he returned to his native Sligo, and in order to continue the lessons, we switched to distance learning on the Skype platform. It is great that such technologies have appeared in modern life. Now you can study remotely without any problems, but, of course, nothing can replace live, face to face communication, so our Kalinka Russian School continues to organise cultural events-meetings for students in a live format. Such a meeting will soon take place in Dublin. Details will be soon on our website. Sligo is not far away to learn Russian if you have Skype, just like any other corner of Ireland or the world. ))
